Assessment

In order to successfully complete this course, you must obtain at least 50 per cent on the mandatory project.

Grading Scale

The official grading scale for all Open Learning courses is the official TRU Academic/Career/Developmental Programs scale as noted in TRU’s “Grading Systems and Procedures.” For detailed information, go to http://www.tru.ca/distance/services/policies/newgrading.html.

Sending an Assignment to Your Open Learning Faculty Member

As soon as you have completed a report, save your document and send it to your Open Learning Faculty Member for marking by using the Assignment submission activity in Moodle.

Be sure to include your name, the course code, report name, and the date of submission on the title page of your assignments, so they can be easily identified, and you get credit for all your work. Use headers in the body of your report to make sure all components of your assignments are clearly identified.

Name your file as follows: course number_your surname_report name_date. For example, if your name is John Smith and you are submitting the Requirements report, name your file: ENGL1061_Smith_Requirements_14June2021.

Academic Integrity

Complete your assignments independently, honestly, and without misrepresentation or plagiarism. Plagiarism is using someone’s work, ideas, or theories without acknowledging the source. To avoid plagiarism, cite all sources of direct quotations and give credit for any borrowed ideas (including images, charts, etc.). TRU Library provides valuable resources to help you understand and avoid plagiarism on the “Get Research Help” web page at https://libguides.tru.ca/researchhelp. It is your responsibility to read the Academic Integrity policy at http://www.tru.ca/__shared/assets/ed05-05657.pdf.
